What changes do I have to inform the family fund?
If you receive child allowance, you are obliged to inform the family fund of certain changes. This particularly applies if:
- another child was born into your family,
- a child moves into your household or leaves it, is reported missing or has died,
- married a child, moved in with a partner or had a child yourself,
- You, the other parent, or your partner, have founded a shared household or left it, or
- Your family moves abroad.
Can I receive child allowance and housing benefit at the same time?
Yes, it is possible to receive housing benefit and child allowance at the same time. Applying for housing benefit often also makes sense. You can find more information about housing benefit in the linked article.
Can I receive child allowance and citizen's benefit at the same time?
No, receiving citizen's benefit leads to exclusion from the child allowance. The reason: Citizens' benefit also includes benefits for children.
Will the child allowance be replaced by the basic child benefit?
The planned basic child support will not come in 2024. The child allowance will therefore not yet be replaced by the basic child benefit in 2024. However, it could be included in the basic child benefit in 2025.
